Expressive Art Journaling Thursday October 12, 2017

Greetings Creative Friends,
This Thursday we will be embellishing personal papers
or swatches while we journal.
Please bring in any saved pretty papers, napkins, old cards, papers, that you want to add paint, text, and other media too.
I have a folder of my collage elements making it easy to keep the scraps organized.
In this photo you can see some of my personalized swatches.
When you have left over acrylic or watercolor paint from a journal page or another project, it is fun to make your scrap swatches more your own by adding paint, text, doodles, etc.

Have an old artwork that you want to reuse, make a copy of, or manipulate and use for your art journal?
Look around your home and see what you can bring.
Of course you can show up and just use magazines clippings for your journal but bringing personal swatches will create richer layers of  personal storytelling.
Journal Prompts: One prompt does not fit all!
Are you wanting to work on turning a painful event into a tribute page?
How about a tribute page for a loved one?
What about following your intuition and see where your personal papers lead. you?
Starting with words?  Write a few words on a page and then paint over with watered down paint and see where it leads.
Who is your mentor?
Archetypal image of a Goddess, wise women, teacher?
How about creating an ugly chaotic page focusing on movement and mark making.  This page can move from
chaos to calm or just be a witness of a chaotic day.
Where are you in the moment of creating? Do you want to just focus on letting go and follow the work through deep breathing and accessing your inner wisdom?
Write a question or more than one on a page and see what evolves. Sometimes the answer will not come right away but be patient...  For details and registration link below.
