![]() Watercolors can be fickle, hard to control, easy to ruin and quick to overwork! They can be so frustrating! As an acrylic painter I am very used to the forgiveness of acrylic (and oils) on canvas! With watercolors, I used to get very frustrated with until I discovered Intuitive Painting while I was an Art Therapy Grad Student. Intuitive Painting is the process of letting the flow of paint through mark making lead the process to see what turns up in one's work. With Intuitive Watercolor painting, one can explore wet paint on wet paper and watch the properties of the paint mix to understand how lovely the medium can be. When we free ourselves from the finished product (like in art therapy) we can simply play with the materials and learn from them. INTUITIVE WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP coming up in September 19TH at 1-2:30 pm. We will explore the properties and possibilities of watercolors. Learn about making shapes and lines with brushes with wet on wet technique and dry brush techniques. We also go over a little color theory, composition, and other techniques. We will do a series of watercolor exercises and not a finished product. This is a free Zoom live workshop (sponsored by The ACA Atlantic Center for the Arts) limited to 12 participants.
